The German government is concerned about the disappearance of opposition politician Maria Kolesnikova in Minsk. As it was reported earlier, on the morning of September 7, people in civilian clothes in the center of the Belarusian capital put Kolesnikova in a minibus with the sign “Communication” and drove away in an unknown direction. The relatives sent a statement to the police about the loss, they said that the statement was accepted.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Mas called on the Belarusian authorities to clarify the whereabouts of Kolesnikova, as well as to release all political prisoners in the country. “Continued detention and repression, including against members of the Coordination Council, is unacceptable,” Minister Bild said.

London also spoke out on this incident. British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab said that “the safe return of Kolesnikova should be a priority for the Lukashenka regime.”
