The FSB of Russia released a video showing how the Consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine in St. Petersburg Alexander Sosonyuk, accused of receiving information of a classified nature from a Russian citizen, was interested in databases of Russians and criminal cases.
“Federal Security Service. You are detained for committing illegal actions, ”the video says.
Further, the consul of Ukraine was taken for interrogation, where the special services explained that the consul Alexander Sosonyuk had been caught in gaining access to closed information arrays that contain a database of Russian residents.
According to the video published, the man was detained in a cafe in St. Petersburg while receiving an electronic device.
The arrest of the Ukrainian consul Alexander Sosonyuk became known on the morning of April 17. According to the FSB, he was caught red-handed while receiving classified information from a Russian citizen. The intelligence service indicated that measures would be taken against the diplomat in accordance with international law. The consul was ordered to leave Russia within 72 hours starting from April 19, the Foreign Ministry said.
