The journalists of Radio France Internationale had to apologize after they reported the death of several famous people who are in good health to this day.

The radio station’s website has published obituaries in memory of many celebrities, including Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, actress Brigitte Bardot and actor and director Clint Eastwood. The company “deceased” was also made up of no less lively footballer Pele, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, former US President Jimmy Carter and many others.

As it turned out, due to a technical error, the prepared drafts of the sad news “surfaced” on the site. As noted by the BBC, the practice of pre-writing obituaries about elderly famous people is widespread among the media and allows the public to be promptly informed in the event of their death.

“We apologize to all the people mentioned, as well as those who follow us and trust us,” – said in an official statement RFI.
