Forest protection will be strengthened in the Ryazan Region before the New Year holidays. This is reported by the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.
On December 14, measures were launched to preserve young conifers and other trees from illegal logging – Operation Herringbone. the number of patrols and raids will be increased.
The ministry recalled that fines are provided for illegal felling of trees:
for citizens from 3 to 4 thousand rubles per tree,
for officials – from 20 to 40 thousand rubles,
for legal entities – from 200 to 300 thousand rubles.
If the amount of damage exceeds 5 thousand rubles (cutting two spruce trees), then the offender may face criminal liability, up to four years in prison. He will also be obliged to compensate for the damage.
