Front-loading washing machines are built into kitchen furniture, but due to their size they require more space. There are also compact front-loading machines, but they have all the parts so tightly packed that they often break.
How the Stiftung Warentest specialists test the units is evidenced by the following fact: in 2019, three front-facing washing machines were tested for endurance: each model was washed 1,840 times with different programs. This endurance test took about half a year and simulated ten years of use with 3.5 washes per week. In addition, 10 front-loading washing machines and five washer-dryers were tested.
Based on the comparison of endurance, washing quality, energy consumption versus price among washer-dryers, the Siemens WD 144540 unit took the first place at a price of 955 euros; Among the front washing machines, the first place was taken by the Miele WDB 330 WPS SpeedCare unit at a price of 940 euros.
