A video with a large number of dead fish found on the shallows of the Chograi reservoir was posted on social networks by eyewitnesses.
According to experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Stavropol Territory, this is due to a sharp change in the direction of the wind. “The east wind blowing last weekend brought water into the tail of the reservoir, and when its direction changed, the water left, and the fish remaining in the shallow areas died from lack of oxygen,” the ministry’s press service writes.
On this fact, the supervisory authority of the Stavropol Territory organized an inspection, based on the results of which the issue of prosecutorial response measures will be decided.
