“What sadness, what misfortune, it is a scandal.” Rana Aboumrad, a resident of Beirut who experienced the tragedy from the front row, has no shortage of words to describe the explosions that tore the Lebanese capital apart on Tuesday.

“Everyone is under the rubble,” bluntly blurted out the nutritionist who saw her house “almost destroyed” by the shock of the blasts.

“The doors disappeared, the fridge exploded, the ceiling collapsed and cracked. The windows are gone, the cupboards have collapsed. The windows broke. There are no more shutters, no more curtains, ”she enumerated with horror on Wednesday on QUB radio.

Although certain aspects surrounding the tragedy remain unclear, Ms. Aboumrad is already blaming the “contempt” for the government of Lebanon, which she describes as a “criminal and terrorist political regime”.

“They lied to us, they stole from us. Now they have killed us. Corpses are everywhere, people are lost, ”she said, adding that the situation was just as catastrophic for Lebanese hospitals.
