As the tourist season in China approaches, Beijing warns that it will punish those unlucky extreme lovers who dare to conquer the wild part of the Great Wall of China.
The “Wild Wall of China” refers to the part of the great structure that has not been restored and remains closed to tourists. Despite the ban, every year photos and videos of thrill seekers appear on the web, who make their way through the fence and explore the overgrown and collapsed parts of the building. New safeguards introduced by the Beijing authorities include a fine of 200 to 30,000 yuan.
On October 1, one of the most important national holidays begins in the PRC – Golden Week, which supposedly should slightly support tourism in the country. Every year for the week of the holiday, hundreds of thousands of Chinese tourists go abroad, but due to the pandemic this year, many of them will flood the capital and, among other things, climb the Great Wall of China.
