On February 26, the judge of the 2nd Western District Military Court sent two ex-officers of the Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia to the colony. According to RAPSI, the siloviki Sergei Belousov and Andrei Kolobov, who extorted a bribe from the family of the former general director of Izvestia publishing house Erast Galumov, received 9 and 12 years in prison. At the same time, the court seized 0.1 and 4.70235 bitcoins as state revenue (about 16 million rubles at the current exchange rate – editor’s note).

FSB officers were arrested in the spring of 2019. They demanded about $ 3 million (in cryptocurrency) from Galumov, who himself was in a criminal case. For this money, the security forces promised to solve his problems. Galumov himself nevertheless received 6 years in prison for fraud in November 2020.
