The EpiVacCorona vaccine registered in October from the Vector Scientific Center is included in the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the prevention of coronavirus. This follows from a document published on Monday, October 26, on the agency’s website.
“In the Russian Federation, two vaccines have been registered for the prevention of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in adults from 18 to 60 years old <...> On 11.08.2020, a combined vector vaccine (“ Gam-COVID-Vac ”) was registered, 13.10.2020 A vaccine based on peptide antigens (EpiVacCorona) has been registered, ”the text says.
Earlier that day, Rospotrebnadzor published preliminary results of a study on how the EpiVacCorona vaccine affects reproductive health. The full cycle of studies of the drug for reproductive toxicity will be completed in December 2020.
To date, two vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in Russia. Registration of the first in the country and the world vaccine called “Sputnik V” ended on 11 August. The drug was created by specialists from the Gamaleya Center. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has already announced the launch of the vaccine into production and issued a permit to conduct a post-registration study.
The registration of the second vaccine – “EpiVacCorona” from the “Vector” center – became known on October 14.
