Journalists have become aware of the nicknames of the Corgi dogs, which recently appeared in the possession of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.

According to the tabloid The Sun, the puppies were named after the Queen’s uncle, who died during the First World War, and the Scottish lake near the monarchs’ residence.

One of the puppies – a mix of corgi and dachshund – was given the nickname Fergus in honor of Elizabeth II’s uncle Fergus Bowes-Lyon, mother’s brother, he died in 1915 at the age of 26 in the Battle of Loos. The second dog received the nickname Mick, as a lake, next to which the queen loves to walk and have picnics during her holidays in August and September in Scotland.

The queen got a dog in December 2020, which is a mixture of a corgi and a dachshund named Vulcan. Earlier it was reported that Elizabeth II had one pet, which was named Candy.
