Eight children were taken to hospital as a result of poisoning after visiting a swimming pool in Izhevsk. This was announced on Wednesday, April 14, in the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

“A pre-investigation check on the poisoning of children in the pool has been organized,” the ministry’s official website says.

As specified, a resident of the city equipped a swimming pool in one of the districts and invited the townspeople to visit it on a paid basis. On April 13, water disinfection was carried out using preparations containing chlorine. Later the pool was visited by ten children and two adults who felt unwell in the evening. As a result, eight children were taken to the hospital with signs of poisoning; doctors are working with them.

At the scene of the incident, officers of the Investigative Committee arrived, who examined the scene and interviewed the victims. Details and circumstances of the incident are being established.

At the end of January, it was reported that in St. Petersburg, a one and a half year old child was hospitalized after visiting a swimming pool located in one of the spa centers on Ryukhin Street. He was diagnosed with acute inhalation ozone poisoning.
