Egypt is ready to receive tourists from Russia and offer them various types of recreation, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Egypt Gada Shalyabi said on April 13.

“Cairo International Airport is open: Russian tourists from various regions can fly to Cairo and spend a vacation in the capital, or head to resorts both in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, or relax in the south in Luxor or Aswan,” she said. “RIA News”.

She noted that Egypt welcomes Russian tourists at any time.

Earlier, on April 11, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, expressed hope for the resumption of charter flights from Russia to Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada in the near future.

He stressed that the specialized specialists of both countries have done a lot of joint work in this direction in recent years, and noted that the resorts of Egypt have long become a favorite vacation spot for many Russians.

On February 18, it was reported that Egypt expects to resume direct flights from Russia to the cities of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh in the spring.

A poll conducted at the end of February 2021 showed that Russians want to go on vacation to Turkey, Thailand and Egypt after the borders open.
