Residents of Noyabrsk can buy consecrated Easter cakes in “Lenta”, this was reported on April 29 in the Salekhard diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“Today the rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael Noyabrsk performed the rite of consecration of Easter cakes in the Lenta hypermarket, after which he addressed the townspeople with a parting word about the importance of prayer on the eve of the great holiday of Easter,” the message says.
Let’s remind, Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter this year on May 2. In Noyabrsk, the holiday will be celebrated with a night service and a meeting of the Holy Fire. According to the main organizer of the holiday in Noyabrsk – the Orthodox parish of the Church of the Archangel Michael – the main blessing of the cakes is scheduled for May 1.
