Lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky said that he would miss Elman Pashaev, deprived of his legal status.
On September 18, the former defenders of the actor Mikhail Yevremov in the case of the fatal road accident Elman Pashayev were deprived of the status of a lawyer for a year by the council of the Bar Chamber of North Ossetia.
Dobrovinsky noted that it would be unethical for him to speak out about the decision of his colleagues, but during the trial over Efremov, he formed his own opinion about Pashayev.
“The only thing I can say is that I will miss,” Gazeta.Ru quotes him.
The lawyers’ community claims against Pashaev and Dobrovinsky during the trial of Efremov. In July, both were disciplined for ethics violations. The Federal Chamber of Lawyers noted that by their statements in the media, defenders divulge attorney secrets and express judgments incompatible with their status, while using the case for self-promotion and PR.
On September 10, the Ministry of Justice proposed to deprive Pashayev of his lawyer status. Disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against Dobrovinsky.
Pashayev himself, during a hearing on his disciplinary case, read a letter from Efremov, in which the actor stood up for the former defender. He assured that Pashayev did his job “highly professionally” and interacted with the media at the request of Efremov himself.
On September 8, Mikhail Efremov was found guilty of an accident and sentenced to eight years in prison. The artist told human rights defenders that he was refusing the services of Pashayev, who set him up.
At the beginning of the trial of Efremov, Pashayev announced plans to achieve an exculpatory conversation, insisted that the actor was not driving, and also put forward theories according to which hackers could control Efremov’s car.
Currently, Roman Filippov, who is also the champion of Russia, Europe and the world in armwrestling, has become the new defender of the artist.
