Detainees charged for preparing coup d’etat in Belarus

Head of the Investigation Department of the State Security Committee Konstantin Bychek said on the air of the Belarus-1 TV channel that four detainees were charged with conspiracy to change power in an unconstitutional way for preparing a coup d’etat in the republic.

“All of them confess and cooperate with the investigation,” he explained.

According to him, one of the detainees, Yuri Zenkovich, pleaded guilty in full, the man actively testifies about all the circumstances of the impending crime.

“For almost half a year, we have documented and recorded all stages of illegal activities, including with the help of technical means of objective control,” added the head of the KGB department.

Bychek stressed that the actions of the detainees went beyond simply discussing issues in social networks.
