The Basmanny Court in Moscow on Monday, December 14, arrested in absentia a native of Ingushetia, Ibragim Aushev, suspected of involvement in the murder of the head of the Center for Countering Extremism (CPE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, Ibragim Eldzharkiev.
“The court arrested Ibragim Aushev in absentia, who is accused under paragraph“ b ”of Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (a terrorist act resulting in the deliberate infliction of death on a person). He was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention for two months from the moment of his arrest or extradition to the Russian Federation, ”TASS quotes a source in court.
At the same time, a law enforcement source pointed out to the agency that this is precisely the probable involvement of Aushev in the murder of Eldzharkiev.
At the end of November, the press secretary of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Irina Sofinskaya, announced that the investigation was asking for the arrest of two defendants in the case of the attempt on Eldzharkiev in absentia. Then it was about the accused Boris Bogatyrev and Ilyas Belkharoev. They have already been put on the international wanted list.
The attempt on the life of the head of the Center for Countering Extremism (CPE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia was committed in January 2019. Unknown persons driving Lada-Grants caught up with the car in which Eldzharkiev was traveling with security on the Kavkaz federal road and opened fire on it. Then Eldzharkiev was not hurt.
In November of the same year, Eldzharkiev and his brother Akhmed, who worked as a neurosurgeon in one of the capital’s hospitals, were killed on Akademik Anokhin Street in Moscow.
Security cameras recorded a masked armed man attacking his victims as they got out of the car. The offender shot them at least 10 times and fled with his accomplices. According to one of the versions, the murder could have occurred because of the conflict between the head of the “E” center with the closed radical sect of Batalhadzhins.
