A resident of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation was punished for helping illegal immigrants in the Sebezh region. A man and five of his “wards” from India were caught while crossing the Russian-Latvian border, writes the Pskov News Feed.
The story began in July 2019, when a Chechen, who was in the capital, made a deal with five illegal immigrants who dreamed of getting to Europe. The violator brought the residents of India to the Sebezh region in his car. Together with foreigners, he walked around several control posts of the Border Administration of the FSB of Russia in the Pskov region and made his way through the forest to Latvia.
However, Latvian border guards seized a group of illegal immigrants and escorted them to Russian territory near the village of Dedino.
In the Pskov region, a criminal case was opened against the Chechen. He was accused of illegally crossing the state border with a group of persons by prior conspiracy and appointed 1 year 8 months in a general regime colony.
