Bishkek reports 183 injured in border conflict with Tajikistan

The number of Kyrgyz residents affected by the armed conflict on the border with Tajikistan has grown to 183 people, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the republic Aliza Soltonbekova said during a briefing in Bishkek on Monday.

“In total, 183 people were injured, 34 of them died,” the official said.

According to her, 99 are undergoing treatment in hospitals in the country.

Recall that the conflict between local residents of the border regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on April 29 resulted in an armed confrontation between the military of the two states. Clashes between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards lasted for over six hours. About 50 people were killed on both sides, 200 were injured.
