It has been a long time since we received news from the canyon “the nature has cleared up so much that …” – but it did come: it turns out that the number of bears in the Kostroma region has dramatically increased in the last two odes.
The head of the hunting department of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Prostov told the media about this phenomenon. According to him, over the past two years, the bear population of the Kostroma region has increased from 2.5 thousand to 3.2 thousand, that is, by almost 30%.
At the same time, hunting experts say that although the population of bears in our forests has grown, it has not yet gone beyond the permissible limits – and urgent shooting of clubfoot is not yet required, and interest in sports hunting for bears has greatly decreased due to coronavirus troubles, since the pleasure is expensive and requires a high degree of organization.
What does the Kostroma bears benefit from – they have successfully survived the last two warm winters in large numbers, raised and reared their offspring … and so lost their fear of humans that they began to appear more and more often near villages.
Fortunately, the appearance of such “brave” bears in our region is still a rarity, and if they nevertheless begin to present an inconvenience to the inhabitants of the region, they are promptly shot by professional huntsmen.
