Argentine President Alberto Fernandez congratulated Russian scientists on the registration of a vaccine against coronavirus. The letter of the head of state, addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, was published on Wednesday, August 12, by Telam agency.
According to him, he, like millions of Argentines, received the news of the vaccine registration with hope. “On behalf of myself and on behalf of my compatriots, I ask you to convey to the Russian scientists who worked on the vaccine, which was registered today, congratulations on this achievement, which will forever remain in the history of world medicine,” the Argentine leader said.
According to him, the pandemic has not yet been overcome, but good news has come from Russia that allows us to hope for a bright future.
On August 11, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the world’s first vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus infection, developed by the V. N.F. Gamalei together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. It was named “Sputnik V”.
The United States reported that the Russian coronavirus vaccine has passed too few tests and is lagging behind American developments. In response, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that foreign criticism of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus is unfounded and caused by fear of competition.
