April 8: 20,407 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Germany, 306 deaths per day

On April 8, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports 20.407 new infections, which is significantly more than the previous day (9.677). There were 306 corona deaths per day. The nationwide 7-day incidence dropped to 105.7 (110.1). Currently, 4439 patients are undergoing intensive care. More than 10.8 million people in Germany have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, 2,930,852 cases of the virus have been identified in Germany. This means that the number of cases increased by 20,407 cases compared to the previous day. In total, 77,707 people have died as a result of the Covid-19 disease since the start of the pandemic.
