Black Lives Matter activist Satchwell Cole admitted that she has been pretending to be black all her life. The 45-year-old Indiana resident posted her confession with an apology on Facebook.
“Friends, it’s time for me to admit responsibility for my actions and for the damage that I caused. The victims of my deception are those I care about the most. I occupied the (media) space as black, knowing that I was actually white, ”said Cole.
According to The New York Post, the deception came to light after the publication in the press of documents in which Satchwell Cole indicated her race as “white”, like her parents. Also, journalists found out that the woman changed her name in 2010, when her popularity as an activist began to grow.
Satchwell Cole has frequently spoken at various anti-racism events and made statements on behalf of the black community.
