Vladimir Grachev, Advisor to the General Director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, has been placed under house arrest in a fraud case. This decision was made by the Presnensky Court of Moscow.
“The court granted the petition for the election of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest against Grachev,” TASS reports on Wednesday, September 16.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, 78-year-old Grachev demanded € 1 million from a waste processing company for lobbying its interests. He was detained in a restaurant while receiving 3 million rubles ($ 20,000) while advising businessmen on environmental issues.
In the management of the TFR in Moscow, it was assumed that this was the first part of the money that Grachev intended to receive.
On the website of the public council “Rosatom” it is said that Grachev is a doctor of technical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Department of Physical Chemistry). He is also the chairman of the public council under Rostekhnadzor.
