The Ministry of Finance of Russia provided additional funds in the draft federal budget to support unemployed citizens in 2021. This was announced on September 17 by the head of the department Anton Siluanov.
“Benefits to the unemployed have indeed been increased this year, we have provided additional funds for the current year, more than 100 billion rubles have been spent on this task. By the way, not only this year, but also next year, we are also providing additional resources in order to help people who find themselves in difficult life situations. Social protection measures for our citizens who have not yet found a job, they will be provided in full, “he said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.
Earlier, the Cabinet approved the draft federal budget for 2021 and the planning period for 2022 and 2023. By October 1, the document will be sent to the State Duma for consideration. The main focus is on the fulfillment of all social obligations of the state to the people, said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Earlier, on September 14, it was reported that the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia kept the forecast for unemployment in the Russian Federation in 2020 at 5.7%. According to the ministry’s expectations, in the next three years the share of non-working citizens in the country will gradually decrease – to 5.2% in 2021, and also to 4.7% in 2022 and to 4.6% in 2023.
According to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, the situation on the labor market remains difficult, but unemployment is expected to decline to its “natural” level by the end of 2021.
