About 14 thousand couples got married in Moscow in three months

In Moscow, in the first three months of 2021, about 14 thousand couples were married, the figure remained at the same level as a year ago, according to the website of the mayor and the government of the capital.

“About 14 thousand couples have got married in the capital’s registry offices and at unusual venues since the beginning of 2021. This indicator remained at the same level compared to the previous year. I would like to note that unusual places for marriage have become more popular. This year, more than 20 percent more wedding ceremonies took place at locations known in the capital than in the same period last year, ”said Svetlana Ukhaneva, Acting Head of the Moscow Civil Registry Office.

She added that the number of unusual marriage venues is growing, this year they include the Danilovsky Park Hotel and The Great Hall Yakimanka. The most popular among such places is the Royal mansion, where 160 couples got married. On the second – Spiridonov’s mansion, where 130 couples got married. The top three is completed by the restaurant in the OKO tower, where 109 ceremonies took place.

Among the capital’s registry offices, the most popular is the Wedding Palace No. 1, where more than 1,000 couples got married. The second was the Shilovsky registry office (650 couples), the third – the Wedding Palace No. 3 (593 couples).

The most popular date for weddings since the beginning of 2021 was February 20 (700 ceremonies). 630 couples got married on February 12, 568 on February 27.

Most often, since the beginning of 2021, grooms have entered into marriage at the age of 30, and brides at the age of 25. 40% of men married at the age of 25–33, 35% of women were married at the age of 24–31.
