Archaeologists have discovered a part of an old road, presumably of the 19th century, on the territory of the Snetogorsk monastery. This was reported in the Instagram account of the ANO “Revival of cultural heritage objects in the city of Pskov (Pskov region)”.
Also, experts found the remains of pottery. The excavation was laid not far from the destroyed Church of the Ascension under the Bells.
“There are areas where finely fragmented medieval ceramics have already come across, and this is a marker of the presence of a cultural layer. We will also try to lay an exploration pit outside the monastery fence, ”said Anton Romanovsky, senior researcher at the Archaeological Center of the Pskov Region.
