In the Kalevala region, a woman is suspected of knowingly false denunciation, for which she may face a term. This was reported in the Investigative Committee of Karelia. A criminal case has been opened against her.
As it turned out, in June of this year, a woman wrote a statement against a man who allegedly raped her. Despite the fact that she was warned that criminal liability is provided for knowingly false denunciation, she did not withdraw her testimony. However, a subsequent check showed that she wrote the statements about such a serious crime out of personal interests, and in fact there was no rape.
Investigative actions are now being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the incident. In addition, the suspect will be sent for a forensic medical examination. For this crime, she can be imprisoned for up to 3 years.
