A concrete slab collapsed on cars on Rublevo-Uspenskoe highway in Moscow, because of the incident, traffic on the highway was blocked. This was announced on Tuesday, November 10, by the REN TV channel.
According to the TV channel, the concrete structure crushed the front of one passenger car, almost destroying it.
No casualties were reported. Emergency personnel are working at the scene. The circumstances and causes of the emergency are being established.
Earlier, on October 11, a pedestrian crossing collapsed in the Leningrad Region. The structure collapsed after its body hit a dump truck passing under the crossing. As a result, the building fell and blocked the roadway.
On May 8, an overhead pedestrian crossing collapsed on the Tyumen – Khanty-Mansiysk highway in the Tyumen region. Because of the incident, traffic on the road was blocked. In mid-August, the prosecutor’s office of the Tyumen district of the Tyumen region approved the indictment in the criminal case of the collapse of an overhead pedestrian crossing, causing damage in the amount of 7.6 million rubles. The case was initiated against a 48-year-old resident of Tyumen under Art. 168 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Destruction, damage to other people’s property on a large scale.”
According to the investigation, in May the driver of a KamAZ car with a crane-manipulator was driving with a raised manipulator boom and hooked it into an overhead pedestrian crossing. As a result, the crossing collapsed, damaging the metal fence of the road and a passing passenger car, the driver of which was not seriously injured.
