In Moscow, the average salary for the first 11 months of 2020 increased by 6.1% compared to the same period in 2019, exceeding 95 thousand rubles. This was announced on Wednesday, February 24, on the official portal of the mayor and government of the capital.

“According to Mosstat, the average nominal accrued wages in the first 11 months of 2020 increased by 6.1% over the same period in 2019 and amounted to 95,719 rubles. The largest increase in wages to the level of 2019 was recorded in the spheres of health care and the provision of social services, an increase of 14.9%, ”the statement said.

In addition, it is reported that at the end of 2020, personal income tax revenues to the capital’s budget increased by 11.2% compared to 2019 and amounted to 1 trillion 155.2 billion rubles.

At the same time, the dynamics of deductions was influenced, as noted, by the restrictions introduced as part of the fight against coronavirus.

The mayor’s office added that the main factors in the growth of revenues were the increase in the wage funds of enterprises and organizations, the maintenance of unemployment at a relatively low level, as well as the results of the declaration campaign.

As of the end of December 2020, the registered unemployment rate in Moscow was 1.3%, the mayor’s office said.

Elena Zyabbarova, the head of the Moscow Department of Finance, noted that in 2021 the authorities expect the continued recovery growth of the economy, an increase in investment and the number of jobs.

“The forecast of the socio-economic development of the city of Moscow for 2021 and the planning period of 2022 and 2023 implies an increase in the level of nominal wages by 5.9-7% in annual terms in the medium term. Accordingly, in the city budget for 2021 – 2023, a steady increase in personal income tax is predicted, “she stressed.

Earlier, in February, it became known which cities Russians consider the best in terms of wages. Thus, according to 86% of the country’s residents, the highest salary in a specialty can be received in Moscow. The capital is followed by St. Petersburg, it was noted by 29% of respondents. The Russians also called Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Sochi and Kazan.
