One of the teams participating in the Baikal Mile motor rally drove through Yoshkar-Ola and examined the city.
The race started on February 19 in St. Petersburg. 14 teams are moving along seven routes to Lake Baikal. On their way – Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Yoshkar-Ola, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude.
On February 22, the St. Petersburg team Fertoing reached the Mari capital. On the way, participants see the sights and complete assignments from the Russian Geographical Society.
Dmitry Shilov, a team member and correspondent for Nevskiye Novosti, shared his impressions of Yoshkar-Ola. Together with his comrades, on a clear frosty day, he walked along the embankment of Bruges, wanted to see the movement of the “Twelve Apostles” (because of the too cold weather, the figures did not work that day), tasted Mari cuisine.
