Pentagon chief Christopher Miller was among the first Americans to be vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday, and he did so in front of a camera to encourage people to do the same.

The acting defense minister was filmed receiving the vaccine at Walter Reed Military Hospital in suburban Washington.

Nearly three million doses must be distributed by Wednesday, with the goal of vaccinating some 20 million Americans by the end of December and 100 million by the end of March.
