State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov proposed to increase insurance sums on deposits for citizens who have minor children. He sent a corresponding appeal to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
In his letter, Vlasov drew attention to the fact that compensation for deposits in a bank in respect of which an insured event occurred is paid in 100% by an account holder whose deposit amount does not exceed 1.4 million rubles.
At the same time, both depositors with children and without them can count on the maximum compensation. At the same time, according to Vlasov, victims with children could use their contributions as a tool for supporting a child, as an accumulation of funds for his future or for his education.
“I ask you to evaluate the feasibility of making changes to the current legislation in terms of increasing the insured amount of the victim’s contribution by one maximum insured amount (1.4 million rubles) for each minor child who is dependent on him at the time of the insured event,” he quotes letter RT December 14.
The adoption of this measure would be an additional guarantee of financial well-being for families with children, whose support is one of the main tasks of the state, Vlasov concluded.
In September, the State Duma called for an increase of almost three times the size of the tax deduction for children.
