Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers on Monday, November 30, certified the election results and thus confirmed the victory of Democrat Joseph Biden.
“Today, I am doing my duty and certifying (the outcome) of the November 3 elections and, as required by federal and state law, signed the electoral roll approval certificate for elected President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” the governor wrote on Facebook.
Earlier, the head of the State Election Commission, Anne Jacobs, signed documents during a video conference on the completion of the recount of votes in two counties of Milwaukee and Dane. Thus, Biden gets 10 electoral votes from the state.
Lawyers for incumbent US President Donald Trump last week submitted a request to re-process the ballots. Before that, the headquarters of the head of state transferred $ 3 million to local authorities for a recount of votes.
On November 28, Trump announced that lawyers for his campaign headquarters are going to sue in the Wisconsin state court because a large number of voters “voted illegally” were found there.
The US presidential election took place on November 3. Trump refuses to accept his defeat and recognize Biden as the country’s new president.
Trump campaign lawyers are filing lawsuits and seeking to challenge election results in several key states.
