According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 19,990, which is a new anti-record since the beginning of the pandemic (17,214 yesterday). Currently, 2,546 patients with Covid-19 are being treated in the intensive care unit.

As of Thursday, November 5, 597,583 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the start of the collection of official statistical information on coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 10,930. The R value over 4 days is 0.81.

It is estimated that there are 195,053 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (10 930) and the estimated 381 600 recovered from all ever infected.

According to the Intensive Care Register, 2,546 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents about 8.49 percent of the more than 30,000 intensive care beds in Germany.
