Biological protection specialist Georgy Frolov in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel on Tuesday, October 27, spoke about the importance of airing the premises during the outpatient treatment of a person infected with COVID-19.

He stressed that this measure is necessary to reduce the concentration of the virus in the air, since the main route of infection with COVID-19 is through the air. According to Frolov, this rule is relevant in cases where not all family members are sick.

“If a person is sick, ventilation is a must. Isolation of this person in another room is necessary, it is imperative that he be in a mask, so that when coughing, a runny nose, large quantities (virus particles – Ed.) Do not end up in the air, so that others do not become infected, ”the specialist made recommendations.

He explained that the majority of particles that can infect others are deposited on the inside of the mask. If there is no danger of the spread of the virus through the air, simple ventilation of the room will be sufficient.

Frolov pointed out that ventilation relieves the room of musty air and saturates it with oxygen. At the same time, he urged not to be in a draft while airing, but to leave the room.

On October 26, the Russian Ministry of Health updated the temporary recommendations for the treatment and prevention of coronavirus infection. Five more drugs were included in the list of recommended for the treatment of COVID-19: favipiravir, remdesivir, umifenovir, hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin (in combination with hydroxychloroquine), interferon alpha. The department also spoke about the organization of outpatient treatment for adult patients with mild and moderate severity of the disease.

According to the aif.ru website, discharge from a medical facility is possible only with a persistent improvement in the clinical picture: body temperature should not exceed +37.5 degrees, there should be no signs of an increase in respiratory failure, the level of C-reactive protein should be below 10 mg / l.

After being discharged, the patient must remain in quarantine until two negative tests for coronavirus are received, the 360 TV channel notes. At the same time, a doctor will come to him every day, or he will be monitored remotely, writes NSN. During outpatient treatment, the patient must submit biomaterials to be tested for coronavirus. One or two months after being discharged from the hospital, he will undergo computed tomography to determine how the disease has affected the body.
