Over the past day, 9,412 new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Russia. This was reported by the headquarters for control and monitoring of the situation with COVID-19 on Friday, October 2.
Most of the patients were registered in Moscow 2 704, St. Petersburg 302 and in the Moscow region – 244.
Over the past 24 hours, 186 patients have died from COVID-19 in Russia, 6,054 have recovered.
Over the entire period of the epidemic in Russia, 1,194,643 cases of coronavirus were detected. 21,077 patients died, and 970,296 were cured.
The day before, the headquarters reported 8945 cases of this infection detected per day and 1,185,231 for the entire period.
Earlier, on September 30, Natalya Pshenichnaya, deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, said that Russia could reach a plateau in terms of the number of coronavirus infections within two weeks.
The day before, Pshenichnaya predicted a plateau in the incidence of COVID-19 in the country by the end of October – beginning of November.
On the same day, Rospotrebnadzor said that the situation with the spread of this virus in Russia was under control, but depending on the number of new cases, new restrictions could be introduced.
