Former Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Conor McGregor and reigning UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov were offered to become team coaches in the new season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, but the Russian athlete refused. On September 29, Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz spoke about this in an interview with TMZ.
“Last week [президент UFC] Dana White called me and said: “Ali, what do you think about Khabib if he wins [Джастина Гэтжи]and Conor became members of The Ultimate Fighter at [телеканале] ESPN? ” – said Abdel-Aziz.
He clarified that according to White’s plan, Nurmagomedov and McGregor were supposed to lead the team of fighters, and their revenge would be the culmination of the show.
“But Khabib refused. He said, “This man [Макгрегор] – human debris. He’s rubbish, ”said the manager, noting that Conor did not deserve this fight.
In addition, Abdel-Aziz clarified that White offered to arrange the same show with Justin Gaji – if he wins over Nurmagomedov. The meeting of the fighters will be the main event of UFC 254, which will take place on October 24 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The fight will take place without spectators.
