On October 17, 2020, the Total Dictation will be written for the first time in seventeen years in the fall. Total dictation in Frankfurt am Main invites its permanent participants to take part in an online dictation through a special form on the project’s website, or to take part in the #writehouse format specially designed for dictation.
Option 1: Online dictation
- Go to the website totaldict.ru from a computer or mobile device. – Print the text in a special window on the broadcast page.
- Submit for verification (click on the button).
- The results will be available in your personal account in a few days. The certificate with the assessment and the number of errors can be downloaded from your personal account.
- In an online dictation, you can write all four (!) Parts of the dictation (yes, at different times). Broadcast times: 8:00, 11:00, 14:00 or 23:00 (Moscow time).
Option 2: #writehome
If you do not want to write an online dictation, but prefer the classic version (with a pen on a piece of paper), then this option is just for you! On October 17, you can write such a dictation for online broadcast on this site. Broadcast times: 8:00, 11:00, 14:00 or 23:00 (Moscow time). After writing a dictation on paper, you do not submit your work for verification, but wait for an online analysis on this site from one of the members of the Philological Council and check yourself on your own. In this option, you will not receive a certificate of participation in Total Dictation.

Total dictation is an annual action for everyone, regardless of age, nationality, education level and social status. It shows that being literate is important for everyone; that studying Russian is not easy, but exciting and useful; unites everyone who can or wants to write and speak Russian.
