The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia Melita Vuinovich told Izvestia that she was going to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
– I’m planning to get vaccinated. And we can come back to the question of when and which one later, ”she said.
Melita Vujnovic explained that WHO recommends that its employees get the necessary vaccinations.
“Once vaccines have been evaluated for safety and efficacy and are available, we await appropriate advice for all WHO staff. So yes, I will be vaccinated in the country where I will be at this moment, ”said the WHO representative.
According to Melita Vujnovich, she is also regularly vaccinated against influenza, and she received her last vaccination in Russia.
When Izvestia asked whether Russians should rush to get vaccinated against coronavirus as soon as it starts, or is it better to wait for the post-registration studies to be completed, Melita Vuinovich replied that she advises to follow the recommendations of the national authorities in this matter.
