The preliminary cause of a fire in a drug treatment clinic in Krasnoyarsk, where people died, was a short circuit. This was announced on Thursday, September 17, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.
“Presumably a short circuit in the wiring. This is a preliminary cause of the fire, but this does not mean that it will be confirmed after the investigation of the causes of the fire is completed, “- quoted by TASS.
The department also added that investigations into such fires usually last up to 10 days, but sometimes drag on for a month.
Earlier that day, a law enforcement source also cited the short circuit as the cause of a fire in a medical facility.
The fire occurred the day before in a clinic on Prospekt Mira, 115a. Four people died, two were injured and hospitalized in serious condition. Some of the patients were in the clinic anonymously, because of this it has not yet been possible to establish the identity of the victims.
The Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case into the death of people. According to preliminary data, the fire occurred as a result of careless handling of fire or due to breakdown of electrical equipment. Roszdravnadzor, in turn, announced an inspection of the Krasnoyarsk clinic.
