On September 4, a member of the International Committee of the Federation Council, Oleg Morozov, commented on the recording of a conversation between Berlin and Warsaw about Russian blogger Alexei Navalny “intercepted” by Belarus.

“If the information [президента Белоруссии Александра] Lukashenka are reliable, this strengthens our position, but if the record cannot be considered reliable for any reason, this does not change our position by a millimeter, ”RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Morozov stressed that so far Moscow has not received any evidence of Navalny’s poisoning. Therefore, the Russian senator called on the international community to cooperate with Russia in the investigation of the incident, since “a different approach smacks of provocation and smells bad.”

Earlier on Friday, the State Television of Belarus published a recording of a conversation between Germany and Poland on the situation with the alleged “poisoning” of blogger Alexei Navalny.

The day before, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, announced the interception of the conversation between Warsaw and Berlin that the statements of German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the poisoning of blogger Alexei Navalny are falsifications.

Navalny felt unwell during the Tomsk-Moscow flight on 20 August. The plane urgently landed in Omsk, and the patient was taken to emergency hospital No. 1. According to the head physician of this hospital, the blogger was diagnosed with metabolic disorders. On August 22, he was taken to the Charite clinic in Berlin for treatment.

On September 2, the German government released a statement that a special laboratory of the Bundeswehr allegedly found in the samples of Navalny, who was in a coma in the German clinic Charite, “unequivocal evidence” of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to such statements by Berlin, calling them another information campaign against Russia, since they are not supported by facts.
