The state-owned advertising bank KfW issued more loans during the pandemic than ever before. “In the first half of 2020, KfW posted the highest performance in its history, while German production fell more than ever before due to the corona crisis,” – said the head of KfW Günther Bräunig on Wednesday in Frankfurt.
The banking group’s promotions rose to € 76.2 billion in the first half of the year, more than double the amount in the same period last year (€ 33.6 billion). Domestically, funding has tripled to 63 billion euros (20.8 billion) thanks to Corona aid programs. The demand for housing subsidies also rose significantly to € 12.7 billion (5.4 billion).
