The Hermitage will resume sightseeing tours for groups of up to 5 people, according to the museum’s website on Wednesday, August 5.
“From August 7, 2020, the State Hermitage will resume sightseeing tours of the Main Museum Complex and the General Staff Building for groups (no more than 5 people),” it said.
Tours will be held in sessions daily from Tuesday to Sunday and will last two hours.
In the Main Museum Complex, visitors can get acquainted with the Winter Palace, as well as with the museum’s collections in the Small, Big and New Hermitages.
A sightseeing tour of the General Staff Building will tell you about the history of the building, which is “a unique combination of a modern exhibition complex and solemn historical interiors.”
Visitors will also be able to see a collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, a collection of German painting of the 19th century, as well as visit the 27-room apartments of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire, Count Nesselrode.
Earlier it became known that from 1 August, children under seven years old will be able to view the Hermitage expositions free of charge. Small visitors will have access to routes without excursion services.
