The head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Deyneko, said that the republic’s authorities had equipped about 400 kilometers of anti-tank ditches on the border with Russia within the framework of the so-called “Wall” project. In addition, they stretched 70 kilometers of barbed wire, built 330 kilometers of a rokad road, and erected a metal fence at 100 kilometers.

Initially, the cost of the work was estimated at more than 4 billion hryvnia ($ 143 million), but then it was reduced to 2.5 billion ($ 90 million). At the same time, 2 billion have already been spent. Another 338 million will be spent in 2021. Work continues in the Chernihiv region.

Recall that the project was created in 2014 to stop the “Russian aggression”. At first, they wanted to complete all the work by 2018, but then decided to complete it in 2025.
