The day before, on April 24, a ceremony of consecration of the bells of the Nikolaev Church was held on Red Square in Venev, Tula Region. After the consecration of the belfry, a procession of the cross took place in the streets of the city.
Recall that ten bells weighing nine tons, cast in the city of Tutaev, Yaroslavl region, were delivered to Venev in March this year. The restoration work of the cathedral was carried out within the framework of the 500th anniversary of the Tula Kremlin. After the completion of the work, the Nikolaevskaya bell tower will be operational. A chapel will be located on the first floor, an observation deck on the second, bells will be mounted on the third and fourth tiers.
The city of Venev is proud of its preserved to this day 80-meter bell tower of the former Nicholas Church. According to some reports, this is the tallest religious building in the region to this day. The construction of the bell tower in the 19th century was completed only 60 years after the start of work.
