The Socialist Party of Moldova demands the resignation of President Maia Sandu. This was announced on April 18 by the ex-head of the republic Igor Dodon.

According to him, the political force accused her of an unconstitutional conspiracy against the country and the people.

“We demand the resignation of Maia Sandu and the holding of early presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova,” he said at the end of the meeting of the Republican Council of the Socialist Party.

Dodon added that the Socialist Party defines the decision of the Constitutional Court, “adopted under open pressure from President Maia Sandu, as a constitutional coup with the aim of establishing an external government regime in Moldova in the interests of Sandu’s foreign curators.”

On April 15, the Constitutional Court of Moldova decided to dissolve the country’s parliament due to the fact that there are all grounds for making such a decision. On March 29, Sandu went to court with a similar initiative. In her opinion, all the legal conditions for this were met, but both attempts to dissolve the government failed.

After the decision was made, Sandu announced the imminent signing of a decree on the dissolution of the country’s parliament.
