German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said that threats from Russia have emerged in Europe. She said this at an event organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
“The improvement of Russia’s armaments and its military operations in the middle of Europe have created real threats,” she said.
According to the DPA agency, Kramp-Karrenbauer considers such threats “specific and immediate.” According to her, “the one who points to this is not anti-Russian,” but speaks of “political facts.” She recalled that Moscow has missiles capable of “reaching Germany.”
At the beginning of April, the German Defense Minister also stated that because of Moscow’s actions for the European region, “challenges are growing.” Kramp-Karrenbauer expressed concern over the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border. She is confident that the actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at “provoking a reaction.”
