The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation ironically responded to the words of Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby about the situation on the border with Ukraine. The commentary of the Russian department was posted on Thursday, April 8, on the Ministry’s Telegram channel.

On April 6, Kirby said the United States is calling on Russia to be clearer about its intentions with regard to the movement of forces along the border with Ukraine. According to him, “it is completely incomprehensible what the Russians are doing there.”

“We have fully understood for a long time that you are completely incomprehensible. Catch up, ”the Foreign Ministry said.

On March 29, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ruslan Khomchak announced that Russia was allegedly building up troops near the Ukrainian borders. According to him, this poses a threat to the country’s military security.

In turn, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has the right to move troops on its territory at its discretion, this does not pose a threat to other countries and should not bother anyone.

The Kremlin also stressed that Russia did not accept and does not intend to take part in the armed conflict in Ukraine.

On April 6, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also said that Russia and the United States had held talks on the situation in southeastern Ukraine. Moscow pointed out to Washington the consequences of Kiev’s provocative policies in the region.

Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. The settlement issues are being discussed in the Minsk and Normandy formats – with the participation of Ukraine, Russia, France, Germany.
