Volgogradstat reported on the success achieved by regional farmers in the past year.
According to the ministry, last year the Volgograd region remained one of the leaders in the production of agricultural products.
In general, in 2019, the volume of agricultural production amounted to 149.1 billion rubles. Crop products were produced for 104.4 billion rubles, and for livestock – for 44.7 billion rubles.
It is specified that the agrarians received 4,494.8 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops, 1,015.7 thousand tons of vegetables in open and closed ground, as well as 546.5 thousand tons of milk.
In addition, in 2019 the region became one of the leaders in the production of safflower, mustard, sorghum, chickpea, and millet. The Volgograd region has become an immediate leader in terms of carrot and onion production.
Over the nine months of this year, the region produced agricultural products worth 84 billion rubles.
